Student Academic Support Services (SASS)

The role of the Student Academic Support system is to provide a holistic approach to identifying additional needs for students at all stages within the School of Medicine curriculum. The director of SASS, Dr. Jessica Clement, works in conjunction with the Academic Advancement Committee (AAC), Student Affairs, the curriculum coaches and all invested faculty to identify students who would benefit from additional support in successfully progressing through the curriculum. Once an individualized plan is formulated, the director works in concert with the resources available through Student Affairs, Mental Health Services and Educational/Library Resources to provide the necessary support and resources to address identified concerns.

In addition, SASS looks to assist students with identifying enrichment opportunities that may augment their standard experiences. Furthermore, the director of SASS is available for discussion for professional development and career counseling.
